Well, one of the boldest forms of dressing is the miniskirt. Perhaps one of the best discovered clothes in 1960, this skirt is still very much popular. Mary quaint, a famous designer of 1960s who had her clothes store in Chelsea first designed the mini skirt by giving it an exclusive hemline. The Hollywood actresses soon started flaunting this kind of miniskirts on screens. After that, miniskirts became a rage. Women started wearing it to parties and other special occasions. Miniskirts became a “must have” for the ladies. Miniskirts can be made from various materials. Though the most coveted material for making miniskirts is synthetic fiber, still wool and denim miniskirts are also quite popular.

The miniskirts became a symbol of confidence and attitude. The designers also never stopped experimenting with the designs and the hemline of the miniskirt. Another very bold form of miniskirt was soon discovered. This was the micro-mini skirt. Brides also started opting for miniskirts. Special bridal miniskirts were available in the market. They were white in color and were designed to give an elegant look to the bride. Miniskirts became useful to some people too. Sportspersons started wearing miniskirts because it helped them to move their legs freely which was required in the practice sessions and games. In tennis, the girls utilized the miniskirts extensively. Miniskirts proved to be comfortable to these people.

Bikini: why will the women not want to wear it?

1960 was an awesome era of fashion, modernity and daring. Women wore clothes that people could have never even imagined. Bikini was one of the best discovered clothes in this area. The bikini consisted of two parts and resembled a swimsuit. The upper half covered the breasts while the lower half covered the butt and the other parts. It was designed to wear on beaches or in particularly hot weather. The rectangular shaped bikini was the most famous bikini in the 1960s. Bikinis made the girls look hot, sexy and appealing. They increased any women’s beauty. But of course you need to maintain a good figure if you want to play on the beach in a bikini. You cannot have a clumsy figure if you want to flaunt a bikini. The bikinis were available in various colors and patters. The bikini created frenzy because women loved to wear it and men loved to see women wearing them.

This innovative clothing which resembles women’s underwear also shows the changed attitude and perception of women in that era. Women made it loud and clear that they could not be restricted anymore and wanted to taste freedom.

Bell bottom pants:

Bell bottom pants also had a huge fan following in the 1960s. This particular trousers or jeans appealed to the men and women alike. Hip huggers, high waist baggy pants were the modified forms of bell bottom pants. The rock bands and the Hollywood movies also were instrumental in promoting these pants. The pants were an integral part of the hippy culture and so were very trendy in that era. Bell bottoms were manufactured in materials like Jeans and velvet too so it appealed to more number of customers. Loon pants also came into fashion. Hollywood stars like Jimmy Hendrix, David Bowie, Joan Collins popularized the bell bottom pants further. Television shows, ballets and every other person started flaunting these kinds of pants. Though many people term it as a fashion disaster but bell bottom pants gave a definite jerk to the fashion industry.

Fashion got a new meaning in the era of 1960. Many new clothes came into fashion. Floral prints, paisley prints were used a lot. Bikinis, Miniskirts and bell bottom pants were some of the most fashionable clothes of that era.
